Role Profile
Morgan Stanley's Equities division is looking for a strategist/quantitative intern for its Delta One Strats team. Desk strategists are key participants, together with traders and sales people, in the revenue-generating activities of our Sales & Trading Division. Desk strategists sit on the trading desk and team with the traders to deliver innovative ideas to increase revenue, reduce risk and cost using cutting edge technology. Equity Strats are responsible for implementing high frequency trading algorithms to perform systematic strategies. We also look after gathering data across the market to find trading opportunities and give insights to Sales and Traders. Besides that, we also assist with tooling for trading, to improve the risk management and hedging
infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Build cutting edge high frequency trading algorithms and electronic trading systems, from inception to production deployment
  • Produce insights from large datasets with a clear focus on technical implementation.
  • Monitoring and maintaining systematic strategies plants.
  • Contribute to trading research projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills required (essential)
  • Pursuing a degree in a quantitative subject such as Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering or related subjects.
  • Programming skills in an object oriented language (Java, C++, C#) or scripting language (Python).
  • Technically proficient and able to express ideas and concepts in code.
  • Drive and desire to work in an intense team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with traders and technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal English.

Would be a plus if candidate has:
  • Understanding of Equities market.
  • Experience with Electronic Trading Technology (FIX protocol, orders properties and routing).
  • Professional experience with Java or Python.
  • Experience with statistical and big data analysis techniques.
